CPU texture cache in render preferences

A question about the preferences for centileo render. Is it ok to set the CPU texture cache to 8000 mb?
It just creates cache files up to that size on your hard drive, or is this referring to system RAM used for loading textures?
I just want to make sure I am not slowing my viewport down somehow.
Any way yet to create atmosphere?

Is this yet to be implemented?

the only workaround I can think of is to make a big cube with transmission and subsurface scattering maybe.
Does hair work with centileo? I cannot get any hair to render.

I tried adding hair, but even after caching the dynamics I cannot get it to render in IPR or final render.

EDIT:
Sorry.
I just found this other post here
https://centileo.com/forum/messages/forum19/message1390/333-como-renderizo-el-pelo#message1390

I guess I will have to wait and have my bald mixamo character for now :D

Centileo nodes, can we mix textures?

I'm a little lost with nodes.
How do we combine multiple textures (layer/mix) to add onto materials? I want to combine surface imperfections, but is there a way to do it within the node editor?
I can't find anything with a name that sounds like something I could use, and there is no 'add' or 'multiply' node like with octane.

I tried to use two separate bitmap nodes but I can't figure out how to combine them.

EDIT:
I tried using the layer node, but for some reason only one of my surface imperfection textures works.
Any other one I try doesn't work or show up as a layer.

Render issues using Jiggle Deformer (no deformation)

Is this a bug with the renderer?
I cannot get my jiggle deformer animations to render at all. The object is just stiff even though the viewport clearly shows it working.

I tried using vertex map as well as wind, but neither seems to give me any results.
Not even basic jiggle deformation with simple moving animations with an editable object.

I also tried using another render engine (3Delight) and it works with that.
Is this something easily fixed? Is there a setting I need to change for render? I have not touched much of the defaults since I got most things working I like.

Strange bug making omni light impossible to make invisible to camera

I have a scene with a car I have rigged, and for some reason setting camera emission scale to 0 does not make my omni light invisible to camera. However, doing the exact same thing inside a new scene works fine.
Copying the same light that works into the car scene makes it visible to the camera.
Copying the bad lights into the new scene also makes them visible to camera, and after that point if I make any new omni lights in that same scene they also become impossible to make invisible to the camera.
I can 'fix' it by making the shape radius 0.001m, but then I have to increase the multiplier much more. It's just a strange bug that seems to be infecting my one scene.

**EDIT:
I think it is just something to do with reflection on the window glass.
Moving the light around makes it appear and reappear.
It's a strange observation but I don't think it's a bug.

You can delete this thread. Sorry.

How to make camera mapping work with centileo?

I tried this tutorial to get it to work
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkNOwuvkzgU&t=337s
but the materials it creates when using the camera calibrator tag are default C4D materials. And when I try to change them to centileo materials they still don't show up in the IPR.
I am trying to map a plane so that the image is projected onto it so I can composite it better with animations or deformations applied to the surface.
Is this possible right now in centileo?
Animated image sequence or video file mapped to material? Is this possible or coming later?

I am trying to map a texture to a material, but the thing I want is an image sequence or video file to play animated on a plane surface or other object.
Is this going to be added at some point or is it possible now somehow?
Why does IPR lighting never look the same as final render? (too dark in render)

I always have this issue where my IPR lighting looks great but my final render is very dark, and I have to relight everything after and render again.

I was trying to have my HDRi light multiplier turned down to almost 0, but since my IPR showed the light from my single omni light looked good enough I figured that would look ok rendered.
turning my HDRi up gives the rendered scene more light, but why would it look so much different than in the IPR?

Purple is made into blue using centileo shader?

Is there any reason my purple colour won't render as purple?

Also, this website no longer has https, and chrome keeps giving me warnings. Will this be updated soon?

How to mask out objects using a plane to hide them?

I wish to have dynamics play out and at times to have some objects disappear behind other objects for compositing.
For example, I have a 3D ball be thrown over a fence from a 2D video. I would usually place a plane the same size and shape of the fence that would only hide objects that pass behind it when obscured from the camera view.

I found a way to almost do this with centileo, however, I get some odd reflection from nearby objects I cannot get rid of.
I have a plane I made into a shadow catcher to block this tank, as an example, and I want to hide the tank (or any object that is also behind that plane). I get my result except look at the soldier in front of the plane; he is casting a reflection I cannot get rid of. It is not a reflection property on the material (I removed that and it did nothing), and changing any setting under the diffuse does not remove the reflection.
Any ideas?

I would normally apply a shadow catcher to a plane like this and use a compositing tag to hide the object from camera.
I tried having no HDR Sky to light the scene and there is no reflection anymore, and the object is invisible behind the plane. So it is something with the HDR.

EDIT:
by going to the HDR sky tag and putting matte shadow weight to 0.01 (0.00 removes the plane and makes it totally black but not invisible) I am able to get the plane to be invisible as well as any object behind it.
There is still a small outline of the plane in AE, but I can maybe manage. A tag to uncheck and makes things hidden from camera would be nice in the future.

Shadow catch pass (multi-pass) does not work under any settings, shadow catch never shows up, and I have tried many combinations of settings

I cannot get shadows to render at all. I tried shadow multi-pass and it just renders a black screen.
I enabled 'Alpha channel' and added the multi-pass for shadow.
I have tried just about every combination of render settings to try and get shadows to render, but all I get is a solid black image.
What do I need to change to get shadow pass to render, or is this broken?

Also, I see that there are two types of centileo materials: centileo material and material [node]
What is the difference? One only has material editor while the other has node editor. And the centileo material has 'matte' while the material [node] has shadow catcher.
I tried both material types and neither give me shadows in the render.

Does "object buffer" not work with centileo? (multi-pass)

I am trying to get a luma track matte for an object to render out and use with After Effects. However, I have tried many variations and types of formats for rendering (EXR, PNG, etc.) but I cannot get the render to give me a multi-pass with a luma (white object on black background) to use.
I used the C4D composite tag which has object buffer, and I added object buffer to multi-pass with centileo render settings.
Am I doing anything wrong?
My object buffer 1 pass in the render is just a black screen, but there should be an object with the buffer in a tag.

I followed this tutorial to do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mycLyM2oU_c

How to get motion blur for render?

I cannot find the motion blur option anywhere in the render settings.
all I can find is motion blur settings in the object tag for centileo, however, it is not clear how it works, and adding the tag did not give me motion blur.
I have a helicopter I want the blades to have blur from the animation I give them.
How do you render?

I cannot figure out how to render frames. Which button or menu option renders the images?
I have centileo set as my renderer, I have everything ready to go, but I cannot figure this out.

Is it the "Render to Picture Viewer" button? That does render my image, but it takes quite a long time.
I am using a 3080Ti, and my resolution is only 1080p.
I used a CPU render engine before this, and it took much less time and even at 4K with much more objects to render.

I uploaded a sample frame; should this take 2 minutes to render?

Does centileo have a special render menu within the IPR or does it use the built-in picture viewer render for C4D?
And if this is the way to render, how do you make it save each frame automatically as it renders them? Mine do not save to the folder I set after each frame renders.

CentiLeo lights, how do they work? I cannot make them more intense, Lights not able to brighten in IPR

I try to increase practically every setting for omni lights and even spotlights, but nothing really shows the light intensity increase very much at all.
The viewport shows the light getting stronger, but the IPR lighting is very weak and cannot get brighter, even when making the shape size several meters in radius. The scene just stays quite dark.
Overall Multiplier helps, but not after a certain point. And Light Pass does literally nothing as far as I can tell.
How do I brighten up an area using these lights?

Also, I had made a topic earlier but then deleted, because I made an omni light which did not light anything at first. It was only after increasing the radius that it lit up anything in my scene. I think the default radius for omni light is too small, as it does not light anything and only shows a small dot for the light itself, but does not illuminate the scene at all initially.
Any tutorial or documentation for how to use CentiLeo materials?, I need help

I am trying to get the feel of how this renderer works inside C4D, and I am having trouble texturing materials.
I cannot see how to make displacement work.
Is there a tutorial somewhere? I can only find a YouTube tutorial in Portuguese.
The node system is new to me, and I am trying to avoid using it. I just need help with mapping texture files to materials, such as displacement.
